September move-in approaching!

With all the volunteers from Kokosing, teams from all over the US and Haitian laborers working nearly non-stop on the new facility, our September move-in goal is fast approaching.
Many of the orphanage furnishings survived the quake, but then we gave a lot away to help our neighbors who were much worse off than we were. Add to that the loss of the Mission House and the reconfiguring of roles, locations, responsibilities and furnishings and you see that we are in a position to ask for your help:
We have a building to fill!
We plan to use every scrap we have but that still leaves quite an assortment of items missing or in need of replacement. We are asking groups, churches, classes, schools and families to consider sponsoring rooms in the new facility. We will be posting a wish list of items and an estimated cost for each room on the website, as well as in a newsletter, along with details on how to participate.
We want the girls to participate in the decisions about colors, themes and general decorations, so we’ll also include that information. We believe this will give them a feeling of some control when we bring another big change into their lives and will help when we have to move them yet again.
Keep in mind that this new facility is BIG (it will allow us to grow our education and outreach venues) so there is plenty to fill. And some areas will require more than others (that’s why we want to give you the wish list and estimated cost before you commit to a room/area). You may even want to consider putting together a team to come and “Do Your Room”, putting some of your heart into our home.
So please rally the troops and keep your eyes peeled for all the details in the coming days!
