July 4th was a big day for the HOPE family. Our sweet friend and cook, Nanette, was married to longtime boyfriend, Arnold. Since the Banks family was in the US on Home Ministry, our friends John and Vicki Moseley had the fun of getting 20 girls, 4 nannies, and various friends and neighbors all prettied up and into 2 trucks to make it to the ceremony. Ronise and Rose-Myrlande had special parts in the wedding and the rest of the house (and neighborhood) shared the joy of the day with the happy couple.
In a fashion typical to the culture here, the troops were told to arrive at 8 am for the ceremony. The bride arrived after 10 and the groom after her. The girls were relatively patient (no melt downs or bloody battles) and the elaborate ceremony went off without a hitch. The girls have been telling us the stories of the many pastors who spoke, the many groups who sang and the many princesses that proceeded down the aisle before the bride.
We have been able to talk to the girls about marriage and family as they enjoy looking through the many pictures the Moseleys took of the day. Now we just have to find a place to print them and make a wedding album
